"I simply learnt that my friend's kid needed Immediate Care when he fell ill at work. The doctor was not able to see him for 2 hours, however the man remained in stable condition when he was available in. He has a high fever and a chest cold. He also has a kidney infection and a sinus infection. His immune system is so low that the physician says read more he might need to have an infusion of Vitamin D and he is being held overnight.

He remained in good condition when he went in and the doctors were really kind and patient with him. Immediate Care at Yorba Linda provides primary care for children in between birth and holding down jobs until they are old adequate to return to school. The doctors are really caring and incredibly well-informed. Dr. Mark J. Pelham is a pulmonologist, an emergency situation medicine professional, a pediatrician and a thoracic surgeon. He is the Director of the Immediate Care Program at the St. Francis Center in Yorba Linda. Dr. Pelham is set up to provide an unique presentation at the yearly meeting of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists on Thursday, April 8th. He is preferred and is known as the friendly medical professional with a mischievous character.
New urgent and primary care centre opens on Pandora Avenue
Urgent and primary care centres are one of the main components of the province’s efforts to address the ongoing doctor shortage, with 25 such centres opened since the first was established in the West Shore in 2018.
They offer care that’s needed within 12 to 24 hours, aim to connect patients with a primary care provider at the clinic or in the community, and provide a range of practitioners, including a mental-health and addictions component.
They aim to divert non-emergency cases from hospital emergency rooms.
Some doctors say the province should do more to support and expand family practices rather than pumping money into new urgent and primary care centres.
They question whether the UPCC model actually works to attach patients to family doctors, or just drains money and lures staff away from existing clinics.
“I’m very concerned at how many of these UPCCs are now opened in the Greater Victoria area and the negative effects they have on existing private practices and private walk-in clinics,” said Dr. Benjamin How of the Oak Bay Medical Clinic. “I’m concerned that these taxpayer-funded UPCCs are not forced to take on patients on a longitudinal basis but are only operating as walk-in clinics.”
